Alex is full-time Senior Counsel and Global Privacy Officer to RADAR, Inc., leading the internal legal and data privacy compliance functions for RADAR, Inc., also contributing his passion for problem-solving to product and content development and client service.
Alex founded and manages Wall Law, LLC, which emphasizes the ethical legality of intellectual property and private data. Wall Law supports businesses by providing comprehensive advice regarding risk, corporate structure, employment, and privacy, steering clients to avoid litigation and maximize scalability. The firm positions client entrepreneurs towards success by guiding the establishment of corporations/companies within ethical and legal boundaries. The firm presently provides some services for existing clients, but is not actively seeking new clients.
Alex has nearly a decade of practice experience serving as General Counsel for private companies engaged in software development and SaaS and as a commercial litigation attorney for Fried Frank, LLP, in New York. Alex has an intuitive sense for the business challenges of his clients and is adept at putting himself in their shoes, enabling them to achieve more.
Alex provides advice and counsel in several business legal areas, such as: start-ups, business formation, commercial contracts, privacy law (CIPP/US and CIPP/E certified), IT security, eDiscovery (Relativity Certified Expert), employee/employer disputes, business entity formation and agreements, and intellectual property (licensing, SaaS, trade secrets, confidentiality, and nondisclosure).
Alex also has deep knowledge of best practices for the management of electronic data in projects and litigation. Alex has managed large-scale, voluminous litigation for Fortune 500 companies in federal and administrative tribunals and has trained attorneys and litigation support staff in the workflows and technology in eDiscovery.
Alex is licensed in New York and Oregon, and is admitted to practice in both federal and state courts.
Alex received his B.A. from Colby College in Maine, studying primarily Economics, French, Japanese, East Asian History, and Physics. After several years of working in IT and education, Alex received his J.D. from the University of Maine.
Alex volunteers for and supports Donate Life Northwest, helps lead the Portland Chapter of Environmental Entrepreneurs (E2), and is a strong supporter of educational and workforce training causes.
Alex, a frequent bike commuter, rode his bicycle from San Francisco to Maine with a friend after college. Alex is fascinated by language. He is fluent in French, has studied Japanese, German, and Spanish extensively, and is currently learning Mandarin. Alex, originally from Maine, enjoys bread baking, gardening and spending time with his wife and dog.
